The Baird’s Tapir (Tapirus bairdii) is the largest mammal in Central America and Costa Rica, and the Tapir Valley holds one of the largest populations of this species in the world. This tour takes you into real, pristine rainforest—the natural habitat of many fascinating wildlife species.

This authentic nighttime experience in the Tenorio and Miravalles area is perfect for those who want an unforgettable adventure without long or difficult hikes. After just 15 minutes of walking, you can encounter these incredible animals and enjoy the sounds and atmosphere of the rainforest at night.

The walk lasts approximately two hours and is a calm, relaxing experience. You will explore the tropical forest following tapir tracks, and with a bit of luck, you may even capture amazing photos of Costa Rica’s largest mammal.

During the night tour, it is also possible to spot a variety of wildlife such as frogs, snakes, insects, toads, and many other species. One highlight is the Tapir Valley Tree Frog, a species found only in this region and often seen during our walk through this incredible place.
